Third Sunday of Lent

Reflection

“Worship in spirit and in truth”

In the season of Lent we express our faith through outward signs – ashes, attending Mass, making sacrifices. These represent our commitment to what God really wants: a change of heart, true repentance and the renewal of our faith. The spirit of Lent is reflected in what happens within us, so that we come to the celebration of Easter with hearts and lives open to the joy which the Risen Lord brings.

FAMILY ROSARY FOR LENT - We are inviting families to pray the Rosary in the home each day of Lent as a spiritual preparation for Easter. Rosary leaflets are available at the church doors. Each day Fr Colhoun and Fr Mongan will pray the Divine Office for the families who are able to make this commitment. If you would like to write your family name (address not necessary) on the page at the church doors the priests will put your intentions before God each morning of Lent. If you live alone and would like to introduce the Rosary to your home, you too can add your name to the list.

LENTEN DEVOTIONS on Sunday at 6.00 pm.

Readers St Luke’s Team and Eucharistic Ministers Team A will serve for the month of March, beginning on Saturday 1st March.

WHO OWNED CREGGAN? What have the Guilds of London, the eccentric Earl Bishop Harvey and a local fishery all got in common? Well, at one stage or another over the last 400 years they have all claimed ownership of Creggan Country Park. Acclaimed local historian Annesley Malley delivers a talk on the subject of Land Ownership at the park. The event is completely free of charge.
