LITTLE WAY NOVENA
Saturday, 12th May – Sunday, 20th May 2007.
The Little Way Novena begins on Saturday, 12th May
at the 7.30 pm Vigil Mass. The theme of this year’s
Novena is ‘When I am weak then I am strong’.
A Novena is a nine-day period when an individual,
a family or a community makes a concentrated effort
to pray. Two of the most integral elements of the
Novena are the morning Eucharist at 6.30 am and 10.00
am and the Evening Devotions at 7.30 pm. This period
of intercession is an opportunity for us all to present
to God, through prayer, our hopes, our desires, our
anxieties and our worries. While the story of our
lives is individual and unique, there can be no doubt
that there is a strength gained from praying together
as a community.

The Theme of our retreat
is: ‘God has done great things for me’
is a line from the Magnificat (Gospel of St. Luke
Chapter 1) - Mary’s words to Elizabeth when
she went to visit her cousin after both women had
been called to be part of God’s plan to come
into our world as Saviour. The overall aim of our
retreat is to provide a time and an atmosphere for
all who attend to reflect on our own experiences of
how God has done great things for us.
