THE LITTLE WAY NOVENA Saturday,
12th May – Sunday, 20th May 2007. The Little
Way Novena begins on Saturday, 12th May at the 7.30
pm Vigil Mass. The theme of this year’s Novena
is ‘When I am weak then I am strong’.
A Novena is a nine-day period when an individual,
a family or a community makes a concentrated effort
to pray. St Thérèse candles will be
on sale at the back of the Cathedral. Two of the most
integral elements of the Novena are the morning Eucharist
at 6.30 am and 10.00 am and the Evening Devotions
at 7.30 pm. This period of intercession is an opportunity
for us all to present to God, through prayer, our
hopes, our desires, our anxieties and our worries.
While the story of our lives is individual and unique,
there can be no doubt that there is a strength gained
from praying together as a community.
There will be a guest speaker Monday to Friday during
the Novena at the 7.30 pm Devotions.
